trumpeter and producer
Will Miller
released a split single
in the form of “Escalator”.
The track is under
the moniker of his
Chicago jazz
collective Resavoir
and is split
between the demo version
(recorded in Chicago in 2014)
and the much longer
live version
(recorded in New York in 2018).
Featuring Akenya on vocals
on both versions as well as
various instrumentalists
on tenor sax, bass,
and drums,
the track sounds like
a traffic jam, a chase scene.
Like the opening credits
for a quality heist film.
