One of my favorite rappers,
Obijuan, released
four projects this year.
Always sticking with
the same producer
to keep things cohesive
and sonically sharp,
he collaborated with
Don Carrera on Bush Mechanic,
Philanthrope on Konoha,
Too North on Velentine Zigolo,
and, most recently,
GRIMM Doza on The King’s Wishes.
Made up of ten tracks,
The King’s Wishes
is a dusty, scraping album
that dabbles in evils
and smoke. It feels like
half past midnight,
like mischief, like freedom.
If you like what you hear,
be sure to grab it on vinyl
through the stellar label
Bad Taste Records.
