My sister and brother-in-law
moved into a cabin
in the middle of nowhere
in Franklin, Indiana.
In the barn
(which rests on a significant
number of acres)
they found a bunch of magazines
from the 1940s.
Needless to say,
I took two of them.
I went back in time
to 1947
where The American Legion Magazine
boasts articles on the
'Science of Hats',
the 'Blueprint for World War III',
answers to why it's important
to hire disabled vets,
South American manners,
and 'Sports Varieties'.

More to come
from back in the day
(back when Truman
not Trump was president)
the next time I visit
Franklin, Indiana.
