The 2015 anime

The Boy and the Beast

is the most recent

animated film

I have watched

this year.

Although scenes

really captivated

and dazzled,

I found it moving along

rather slowly.

Maybe I'm impatient,

but it took me

three sittings

to finish this film.

That being said,

as you can see

from the images throughout,

it's a vibrant flick,

full of stunning scenery

and sunsets, stars

in the sky and swords

in hands.

It is

definitely a fine addition

for Mamoru Hosoda,

who has also directed

Wolf Children

and Summer Wars,

both of which I adored.

Next up is his 2006 films

The Girl Who Leapt Through Time.

I will report back

once I've digested it.
